Virginia Beach

Does anyone know of any good ocean side hotels in Virginia Beach? Me and the girlfriend are planning on going in the summer but don't know where we should stay yet. Any suggestions?

Depends on how much money you want to spend. I have been there for the past 10 years or so. Have stayed at The Cutty Sark on 37th Street many times. It is an old place and across the street from the beach but you can see the beach from the balcony. They have efficiency apartments and also houses for rent. The parking is not very good. Also have stayed at The Sea Gull closer to downtown and it is okay. Cheaper than the larger places but is clean and on the beach. Stayed at another place this Oct, and for the life of me I can't remember the name of the place now. Parking was great. The place was old, but very clean and had private balconies. Very cheap in the off season.

The Holiday Inn that sits directly in front of the intersection where 264 ends is a good value...and the rooms are nice to boot. Plus, you are right about in the center of the strip which makes walking more convenient...and because the road to the beach stops right in front of it, it's easy to find as well. Plus, you're right across the road from the most affordable and ,IMO, the best pizza place in town. That's where I stay when I go.
